THE RESISTANCE OF A FAMILY THE SOLIDARITY OF A WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD.
ACQUIT PETITIONS BETWEEN 2 AND 5 YEARS OF JAIL TIME.
It’s June 2011, a time when the streets and avenues where boiling due to 15M (anti-austerity movements in Spain / time for outrage!), Veronica, Eliseo and their three children were being opressively evicted from their own home in the Clot area of Barcelona. The neighbors, after hearingwhat was happening, started movilizing immediately in support to this family. MossosD’esquadra , the local Catalan police, charged violently against the family and all the near by people supporting and defending them from such an atrocious act. Our reason for staying there, was to show both Veronica and Eliseo, they had people behind them and were not alone .Any claims must be an act of resistance and a collective fight, it affects us all, therefore we must fight as one.
This actions taken by MossosD’esquadrawas a clear answer to a specific way of understanding civil housing rights. Generalitat de Catalunya and the Spanish state, both government entities, are joined and willing to place the right of property over the right to quality of living.
A case against Veronica and Eliseo is being built as we speak. What’s highly alarming is the fact that even though they have been evicted from their home in a most violent and brutal way, public entities such as Fiscalia and Generalitat (the plaintiff) want to criminalize and pursuit the actions taken to defend their fundamental rights, to deepened, if necessary, their precariousness.
In addition, they ask for 5 years in jail for 3 people who believed giving support and solidarity to Veronica and Eliseo is an act of justice. A clear act to isolatethem in misery is at play here, they know we are stronger together and we look for not just improving and defending social housing but to highlight and show the power of mutual support.
Let’s keep fighting together against oppressed evictions. If there is anything we have learned in this last few years, is to fight together as one in order to win against the real criminals, accountable for their actions.
When precarity is of the norm and social housing a lost right;
TO RESIST IS AN OBLIGATION.

“FAMILIA BATEN ERRESISTENTZIA, AUZO BATEN ELKARTASUNA”
2 ETA 5 URTEKO KARTZELA ZIGORRA ESKATZEN DUTE.
2011ko Ekainean, herriko plazak bor-borrean zauden M15 mugimendua zela eta. Verónica, Eliseo eta bere hiru seme-alabak beren Clot auzoko pisutik bota zituzten eta auzokideak beren babesera atera ginen. Mossos d’Esquadrak inoiz ikusi gabeko indarkeriaz eraso zuen familia eta beren laguntasuna egertzera bertara gerturatu zen jendea; aldarrikapen oro erresistentzia eta talde-borroka dela erakustera joan ginen guztiak. Guztiona dena, denok batera defendatuko dugu.
Mossos D’Esquadra-ren jokaera honek etxebizitza-eskubidea ulertzeko modu konkretu baten emaitza da. Generalitat de Catalunyak eta Estatu Espainiarrak biek jabetza eskubidea duintasunez bizitzearen gainetik jartzen dute.
Momentu honetan Véronica eta Eliseoren aurka prozesu juridiko bat dago irekita. Kezkagarria iruditzen zaigu beren etxetik indarkeriaz kanporatuak izan ondoren, Fiskaltzak eta Generalitat-ak (akusazio gisan agertzen direnak) oinarrizko eskubide bat defendatzearren kriminalizatu izana, beren ezengonkortasun ekonomikoa are gehiago larrituz.
Honekin batera, beren defentsan agertu ziren 3 kide solidarioentzat ere 5 urteko kartzela zigorra eskatzen dute, zeintzuk uste dugun, Verónica eta Eliseori laguntzea juztizi ekintza dela. Helburu bakarra dute: Gu miserian isolatzea. Badakite elkarrekin indartsuagoak garela. Honela bada, ez da etxebizitza eskubidea bakarrik epaituko, baita elkartasuna ere.
Kaleratu, errepresaliatu eta zapalduok elkarrekin aurre egiten jarraitzen dugu. Urte hauetan zehar ikasi dugu, denok bat eginez gero ezingo gaituztela garaitu eta benetako errudunak ordainduko dutela.
Diru eskasia gailentzen denean eta etxebizitza-eskubidea hain arrunta ez denean:
ERRESISTENTZIA NAHITAEZKOA DA.

Der Widerstand einer Familie - die Solidarität der ganzen Nachbarschaft
Juni 2011.
